Christchurch, Tuckton & Southbourne
We are a new, local church plant venture seeking to make and grow disciples of Jesus Christ in the area of Christchurch, Tuckton and Southbourne as we reach out to the lost with the life changing news of the gospel.
Why Christchurch, Tuckton and Southbourne?
As a family we’ve lived in Tuckton for 14 years. Tuckton is a busy little town between two secondary schools, four primary schools and a number of nurseries so street after street is filled with young families ready to be reached with the gospel. The harvest is plentiful! Tuckton is also well placed to reach out west to the town of Southbourne and east to the town of Christchurch. We would love to plant a church in this area that teaches the Bible and prayerfully makes disciples of Jesus Christ.
What kind of church will it be?
The church will be an Anglican church within the diocese of the AMiE- Anglican Mission in England (outside the structures of the Church of England) www.anglicanmissioninengland.org Though people from all different backgrounds and denominations are very welcome the church will operate proudly within the faithful, orthodox Anglican tradition and under the godly episcopal oversight of an AMiE bishop.
Who will lead the church?
It will be led by me, Reverend James Ivin. I am married to Ann and we have two children who go to a local secondary school. I received my Bible handling and theological training through Cornhill and Cornhill Plus, as part of the Proclamation Trust. I was ordained within the Anglican Mission in England in July 2023. I currently serve as assistant minister at Anchor Church Lymington and Pennington (also an AMiE church). I’m really looking forward to stepping out in faith and embracing the privilege of pastoring a new church family in Christchurch, Tuckton and Southbourne.
